The honorary name “Strike Unit” was assigned to the command and measurement systems department (EKNS “GLONASS”) of the separate command and measurement complex (OKIK) of the Main Testing Space Center named after G.S. Titov of the 15th Army of the Aerospace Special Forces, located in the Republic of Crimea.

The honorary title was awarded based on the results of a control check for the 2020 academic year, during which the servicemen showed a high level of readiness to perform tasks in any conditions of the current situation, including in the conditions of bringing the OKIK to the highest degree of combat readiness.

The pennant “Strike subdivision” was presented to the head of the command-measuring systems department by the unit commander, Colonel Vadim Drosov, in a solemn ceremony.

Evpatoria OKIK GIKTS named after G.S. Titova performs the most important tasks in conducting communication sessions and controlling Russian spacecraft for military, socio-economic and scientific purposes, receiving and processing all types of measurement information, monitoring the technical condition of spacecraft onboard equipment, maintaining the specified parameters of the global navigation field, providing television and radio communications with International space station, as well as participation in flight tests and development of samples of promising military and dual-purpose space assets.

During the past year, the Yevpatoria OKIK on duty conducted about 25 thousand sessions of command and control of the spacecraft of the Russian orbital group.
