Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh ensure the safety of the construction of a water pumping station to provide water to the settlements of Khnabat and Askeran, most of which were left without water supply as a result of the hostilities.

Earlier, construction work at the pumping station was suspended due to its location in close proximity to the demarcation line.

The resumption of construction work became possible as a result of the agreements reached between the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides with the assistance of the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent.

At present, drinking water is delivered to Khnabat and Askeran by utilities, but after the pumping station is commissioned, its capacity will be sufficient to provide drinking water not only to the population of these cities, but also to nearby agricultural lands.

In accordance with the agreements specified in the joint statement of the President of the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, from 00:00 Moscow time on November 10, 2020, a complete ceasefire and all hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh were announced.

With the assistance of Russian peacekeepers in the areas affected by the war, the restoration of vital engineering communications continues.
