In accordance with the instructions of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolai Yevmenov, a new modern training complex was launched in Sevastopol under the leadership of Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Navy Vice-Admiral Vladimir Kasatonov. It was installed at the Black Sea Higher Naval School named after P.S. Nakhimov and is intended for cadets to work out the task of leaving the ship from the basing point and passing the narrowness by the ship in various conditions of the situation.
During the training, future officers will be able to learn the basics of navigation, significantly increasing their level of practical training and practicing the primary skills of maneuvering and mooring.
As Vice-Admiral Vladimir Kasatonov, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, noted, “in difficult navigational conditions, in tight spaces with heavy traffic, when entering or exiting bays, when mooring a ship, well-coordinated work of each crew member is very important, especially the calculation of the“ main command post – combat information post – navigator. ” And this simulator allows you to work it out. “
The capabilities of the training complex make it possible to significantly complicate the situation in the sailing area, simulating various weather phenomena (rain, fog, wind), increasing sea waves from slight heaving to stormy conditions, changing the number of ships present in the water area, as well as creating realistic conditions for mooring to berths … In the memory of the simulator there are maps of all bases of the Russian Navy and foreign ports. Cadets will be able to do virtual mooring on ships of different projects.
The simulator can be used to simulate many different tasks, including in the event of emergency situations.
Before certification, the cadets of the school will test their skills at every place of calculation – from the navigator to the commander of the ship.
