The screenings are timed to coincide with the director’s 85th birthday.

From March 29 to March 31, the Moschino cinema network will host screenings of paintings by Stanislav Govorukhin… They are timed to coincide with the director’s 85th birthday.

The program “Cinematheque: Stanislav Govorukhin” includes the late paintings of the master. So, on March 29 at 16:30 in the Iskra cinema there will be shown a drama about a talented physics teacher and his scientific invention “Not by bread alone” (2005). One of the main roles in the film was then played by the aspiring actress Svetlana Khodchenkova.

The musical melodrama about love “In the style of jazz” (2010) will be shown on March 30 at 14:00 at the Saturn cinema. Govorukhin himself said that he gave such a name to this tape for a reason: this melodrama based on the play by Ksenia Stepanycheva resembles in spirit his favorite musical style – jazz.

Also, viewers will see the war drama “Spray of Champagne”, filmed in 1989 based on the story of Vyacheslav Kondratyev “Vacation from injury”. In the story, a young lieutenant, after being wounded in 1942, ends up in Moscow, but he never manages to get used to life in the city. The film will be screened on March 30 at 16:00 at the Fakel cinema.

The next day, March 31, at 12:00 in the Vympel cinema, everyone will be able to watch the Passenger (2008) melodrama with Irina Pegova, Viktor Sukhorukov and Sergei Nikonenko. This is a screen version of the story by Konstantin Stanyukovich. The film is set in the 80s of the XIX century on a ship.

On March 31, at 14:00, the Sputnik cinema will show the romantic melodrama The Artist (2007) with a star cast – Evgenia Dobrovolskaya, Maria Aronova, Dmitry Pevtsov and Fyodor Bondarchuk.

Admission to the shows is free, pre-registration… The films will be shown from 35 mm film from the Moschino archive.

Stanislav Govorukhin – Soviet and Russian director, screenwriter, actor. In 2006 he was awarded the title of People’s Artist of Russia. The most famous films of the director Govorukhin were “Voroshilovsky Shooter”, “Ten Little Indians” and “The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed.”
