In the Troops and Forces in the North-East of Russia, the servicemen of the submarine sabotage forces and means (PDSS) detachment conducted planned underwater firing from standard weapons. At the coastal underwater range, combat swimmers fired at fixed and moving targets from an SPP-1 underwater pistol and an APS machine gun. In addition, they worked out the techniques of underwater combat with melee weapons alone and as part of battle groups.

While performing training tasks, the detachment’s servicemen inspected the rudder groups and underwater hulls of ships and vessels, berthing facilities for possible laying of mines and explosive devices by a conventional enemy.

Over 20 combat swimmers and two anti-sabotage boats of the Grachonok project were involved in the training.
