Within the framework of the events dedicated to the 115th anniversary of the creation of the Russian Submarine Fleet, the submarine-museum “Submarine D-2“ Narodovolets ”” hosted the grand opening of two exhibitions at once dedicated to this significant date – “They believe in you and wait!” and “For the team to have lunch!”

Exhibition “They believe in you and wait!” devoted to the history of the creation and formation of the Russian submarine fleet. Since its inception as a printed organ of the Navy, the Morskoy Sbornik magazine has become a public arena for discussing pressing problems of naval activities. Long before the official appearance of the submarine forces as part of the fleet, on the pages of magazines published under the supervision of the Main Naval Staff, the opinions of the naval community on scuba diving and diving affairs were published, both theoretical reflections and practical sailing experience. The selection of magazines presented at the temporary exhibition in honor of the 115th anniversary of the creation of the submarine forces clearly demonstrates that at all times materials on history, combat use and many others related to diving have always been reflected on the pages of the main printed organ and were undoubted help for active submariners in covering their difficult service. The exhibition presents copies of the magazine “Marine Collection” from 1848 to the present, photographs, items of maritime practice, models of submarines, flags. You can also see an interesting reproduction “Diving apparatus and diving work in hygienic terms.”

Exhibition “Have lunch for the team!” housed in the torpedo compartment of the legendary submarine museum. It clearly demonstrates that from the moment the first combat submarines were built to this day, one of the important factors in the successful solution of combat missions was the issue of the habitability of submarines and the quality of food for submariners. Of course, the range of products is now more diverse, nevertheless, both in the harsh years of the war and in the peaceful Soviet times, the quality of food preparation, which is called “home-style”, has always been the personal concern of the boat commander.
