It was opened on March 11 on the site of the old cinema “Tajikistan”.

In the project “Active Citizen” voting has opened, in which residents of the capital will choose a name for a new cultural center in the Strogino area. It was opened on March 11.

Muscovites can choose from the available options – “Contemporary” and “Strogino”, as well as offer their own. Its artistic director Yegor Druzhinin proposed to rename the club by the name of the district so that the center would not be confused with the Moscow theater of the same name.

A new building for the cultural center was built on the site of the former “Tajikistan” cinema on Marshal Katukov Street. In 2014, the Moscow Government decided to demolish the old building and erect a modern cultural and leisure center in its place. A two-storey building with an area of about six thousand square meters with a basement was built in 2020.

The cultural center is divided into club and entertainment parts, connected by an 80-meter covered street.

Contemporary choreography will become one of the main activities of the cultural center. It will open the School of Performing Arts, where they will prepare for professional work on stage.

In addition, the center will have studios in seven creative areas: music, art, dance, theater, IT, intellectual leisure and early development. In the library with a reading room for 30 seats, a coworking zone will be organized. The lecture hall is equipped with special equipment for holding seminars, meetings and master classes. The club has a concert hall for 510 seats, equipped with professional acoustic, light and video projection equipment, as well as dressing rooms for artists.

The project of the Mayor of Moscow and the Moscow Government for online voting on urban development issues “Active Citizen” was launched in 2014. It is being implemented by the Moscow Department of Information Technologies together with the State Institution “New Management Technologies”. More than 4.9 million people have already joined the project, almost two million of them in 2020.

Participants determine which streets, courtyards and park areas need to be improved, how city polyclinics, libraries, multifunctional centers should operate, and also choose events for festivals and celebrations. During the existence of the project, Muscovites took part in more than 4.8 thousand votes, in which over 155 million opinions were collected.

Majority decisions are implemented in the city. What has appeared in Moscow or has changed thanks to the voting in the project, you can look at online map… More than 1.6 thousand objects have already been plotted on the diagram.

The heading “Pulse of the Capital” reflects the changes that have occurred in Moscow, they are offered to be assessed in a game format. For example, using emoticons, you can vote for the comfort of new metro trains, the convenience of paying for utility bills, and much more. Also, at the end of 2020, “active citizens” had the opportunity to send the points accumulated in the project to charity.
