Today, at the Osipovichsky training ground of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus in the Mogilev region, an official ceremony was held to open the active phase of the joint Belarusian-Russian battalion tactical exercise with the participation of personnel of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus and a unit of the Airborne Forces of the Russian Federation.

The planned Belarusian-Russian tactical exercise takes place from March 15 to March 27 this year.

The opening ceremony of the exercise, which is being led by the commander of the Vitebsk Separate Guards Airborne Brigade of the Guards Colonel Alexei Elfimov, was attended by the command and servicemen of the units of the two countries.

The military band performed a ceremony of raising national flags to the anthems of the participating countries.

“Our interaction is based on the common historical destinies, strong friendship and spiritual kinship of our peoples. Our friendship gives hope that the independence of Belarus and Russia will always be protected, ”said Colonel Alexei Elfimov, head of the Guard exercise, in his welcoming speech.

In response, the deputy commander of the Pskov Guards Airborne Assault Formation, Colonel Roman Samokhin, congratulated all the participants, noting: “Congratulations to the servicemen taking part in the joint battalion tactical exercise. The exchange of experience within the framework of our joint military cooperation contributes to the development and improvement of troop action methods. “

After the completion of the opening ceremony of the active phase, at the command of the head of the exercise, the personnel left for the training sites.

After the arrival of Russian paratroopers on Belarusian soil, as part of the coordination of the consolidated unit, joint actions were worked out as part of a reinforced parachute battalion in defense and offensive day and night, as well as training in loading, preparing and conducting practical landing.

About 90 servicemen of the Black Sea Airborne Assault Regiment of the Pskov Guards Airborne Forces are taking part in the exercise on behalf of the Russian Federation. More than 400 personnel and about 100 units of military and special equipment from the Vitebsk Separate Guards Airborne Force are involved in the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus.
