Servicemen of formations and military units of the Eastern Military District (VVO) of the Ulan-Ude garrison (Republic of Buryatia), have begun preparations for the military parade in honor of the 76th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War, which will be held on May 9 on the main square of Ulan-Ude.
At present, parade crews are being formed, and crews of combat vehicles and military equipment are being trained. More than 1,000 people are expected to participate in the military parade from the Ministry of Defense, about 370 people from other departments.
The selection of participants in the parade is carried out from among the military personnel who have shown the best results in drill training and possession of equipment.
An additional requirement for parade participants was vaccination against COVID-19.
From next week, the servicemen will begin single combat training in their units. During the training, the order of building the ceremonial boxes will be clarified, the elements of greeting the parade participants by senior chiefs, the removal of banners, as well as the passage of the solemn march of personnel will be worked out.
It should be noted that the participation in the military parade of three legendary vehicles of the Great Patriotic War, the T-34 tank, the IS-2 “Joseph Stalin” heavy tank and the BM-13 “Katyusha” MLRS, will be a historic event in the military parade. It is planned that the IS-2 tank and the Katyusha MLRS will be restored by the military masters of the association for the parade and for the first time the rare vehicles will be able to pass through the Soviets Square, leading a mechanized column.
Recall that by the decision of the command of the combined arms army of the Air Defense Forces, equipment from the Great Patriotic War was removed from the pedestals in the village of Sosnovy Bor for complete restoration. The T-34 Victory tank was restored in 2019 by the best military masters of a separate repair and restoration battalion of the Air Defense Forces; last year, for the first time, he led a mechanized convoy of military equipment at the Victory Parade.
