As part of a special tactical exercise, servicemen of the engineering and sapper units of the Central Military District (CVO) formation ensured the safe passage of a mechanized column of a motorized rifle unit through a minefield in Siberia.

According to the plan of the exercise, the enemy mined the route of military equipment, which was moving into the area of combat use. With the help of mine detectors IMPS-2 and Korshun, the engineers found anti-tank and anti-personnel mines installed by the mock enemy. To overcome a section of the minefield, the servicemen pierced the column tracks, creating passages in the minefields, using the IMR-2 engineering vehicles and the BAT-2 tracker.

The total length of the route prepared by the engineering departments was more than 2 thousand meters.

More than 500 servicemen took part in the exercise and about 40 units of military and special equipment were involved.

The combined arms formation of the Central Military District is deployed in the Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Omsk, Tyumen, Irkutsk regions, Altai Territory and the Republic of Tyva. It includes motorized rifle, artillery and anti-aircraft missile formations, RChBZ and communications troops.
