The Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy expressed gratitude to the management of the Sevmash enterprise (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) for handing over to the crews of nuclear submarines a collection of unique documentaries “Submariner’s Film Library”.
As part of the program of events dedicated to the 115th anniversary of the Russian submarine forces, “Sevmash” has replenished the film libraries of the crews of nuclear submarines. Representatives of the enterprise congratulated the servicemen on the holiday and presented the commanders of nuclear submarines with a collection of documentaries about legendary ships, shot by the plant’s television studio.
The presentation took place at the ceremonial formation of the compound of the submarines under construction and repairs of the White Sea naval base. Marat Abizhanov, a representative of the Sevmash management, emphasized the importance of the professional holiday for the fleet and for the enterprise that builds nuclear submarines. “We consider it an honor to be your comrades-in-arms in defending the borders of the Motherland and are making every effort to create a strong submarine fleet,” he said.
The Submariner’s Film Library, which was handed over to the crews, consists of 10 documentaries about nuclear submarines. These are legendary ships that revolutionized the submarine fleet, changed political vectors on the world stage and made world records. So, the film “Ahead of Time” tells about the world’s fastest nuclear submarine of project 661 (“Goldfish”), “Legend of the Submarine Fleet” – about the deepest nuclear submarine “Leninets”, “Heading to the North” – about the first nuclear submarine of the 4th generation “Yuri Dolgoruky”, “Russian Miracle” – about the world’s largest nuclear submarine “Dmitry Donskoy”. All ships were built on the stocks of Sevmash.
The tapes shot by the Sevmash TV studio are prize-winners and winners of various international and all-Russian film festivals.
In turn, the commander of the formation, Captain 1st Rank Dmitry Stepanenko, thanked Sevmash for the Submariner’s Film Library and expressed confidence that these tapes would inspire submariners to new successes in honing their professionalism.
