The Military Medical Academy hosted the exhibition “The Day of Innovations of the Military Medical Academy”, which presented the best innovative developments, which the head of the academy, Major General of the Medical Service Yevgeny Kryukov, had already familiarized with.

The exhibition was also attended by representatives of the Main Directorate of Research Activities and Technological Support of Advanced Technologies (Innovative Research) of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, as well as employees and cadets of the Academy.

The staff of the Department of Eye Diseases presented the following developments: “Technology for the reconstruction of the ocular surface after severe combat eye injuries”, which allows to provide high-tech assistance for the reconstruction of the eye surface after severe combat eye injuries; “Portable microsurgical plasma scalpel-coagulator with incisor cannula”, which can be used in clinical microsurgery for high-precision bloodless dissection of muscles, blood vessels, skin, mucous membranes and other soft tissues of a person.

Employees of the Department of Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy have created a “Technology for accelerated restoration of motor innervation in injuries of peripheral nerves in the proximal upper limb”, which accelerates the restoration of limb function in severe injuries of large nerves.

The staff of the Department of Neurosurgery proposed “Method of stabilization of the spinal motion segment after lumbar microdiscectomy.” A domestic static interspinous implant has been developed, as well as the necessary devices for its installation, with the aim of using it to stabilize the spinal motion segment after lumbar microdiscectomy.

At the Department of Military Traumatology and Orthopedics, explosion-proof sapper shoes have been developed, which provide an increased level of protection of the lower extremities from the damaging factors of the explosion of a high-explosive anti-personnel mine. In the same place, a device was invented for carrying out the load on the ligamentous apparatus during the X-ray assessment of the degree of instability of the knee joint. The utility model can be used for radiological assessment of the degree of knee joint instability.

The research department of food and water supply of the Scientific Research Center of the Academy has developed a portable filter for water purification in the field and in extreme conditions. At the department of organization and tactics of the medical service, a field transportation device has been created for extracting wounded servicemen from hard-to-reach places, which makes it possible to reduce the labor intensity of extracting the wounded.

In addition, the staff of the Department of Military Field Surgery proposed a method for temporary minimally invasive fixation of multiple and floating rib fractures.
