Within the framework of the humanitarian operation in Nagorno-Karabakh, the employees of the combined group of the Russian Emergencies Ministry provide comprehensive assistance to the local population.
Since the beginning of the work, the pyrotechnics of the department have examined an area of about 630 hectares, where more than 18.5 thousand explosive objects have been found and neutralized.
Humanitarian demining has already been completed in four regions of Nagorno-Karabakh. Among the ammunition found were artillery shells, mines, aerial bombs, fragments of MLRS “Grad” and “Smerch”, cartridges of various calibers.
Also, units of the Russian Emergencies Ministry completed work on the disposal of the territory near the settlement. Afatli in the Aghdam region of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Mines, grenades, electric detonators and fuses were found there. In addition, specialists of the departmental Center “Leader” trained two groups of Azerbaijani pyrotechnics – a total of 68 people who are already performing work in the Aghdam region.
Employees of the consolidated group are monitoring the restoration work in the housing stock and at social infrastructure facilities, where construction materials are used that were previously delivered as humanitarian aid from Russia. At the moment, almost 2 thousand objects have been restored, repairs are ongoing at 377 sites.
In addition, specialists from the Russian Emergencies Ministry continue to patrol the Lachin corridor – they have provided assistance to drivers almost 100 times. The medical service of the department, within the framework of field receptions, helped 400 local residents. Safety lessons in schools continue.
The Russian Emergencies Ministry has been on a humanitarian mission in Nagorno-Karabakh since the end of November last year. For the effective implementation of the assigned tasks, the department periodically rotates personnel. Thus, 56 specialists from the Leader Center, the Noginsk, Donskoy and Tula Rescue Centers, as well as the Emergency Psychological Aid Center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry will replace their colleagues in Nagorno-Karabakh.
