Crews of the Mi-8AMTSh-V “Terminator” transport and combat helicopters of the Central Military District (CVO) have completed night training flights at extremely low altitudes using night vision devices in the Novosibirsk region.

During night training flights, the helicopter pilots worked out flights at extremely low altitudes and completed the tasks of landing helicopters on unprepared sites using navigation devices.

In addition, the servicemen have worked out practical skills in controlling attack helicopters, performing takeoff, landing, flight along a given route with reconnaissance and detection of imaginary enemy objects at night.

When performing the assigned tasks, the pilots used GEO-ONV-1 night vision goggles, while external signals and internal lighting were prohibited to identify the “enemy” unmasking signs.

More than 10 Mi-8AMTSh-V helicopters were involved in training flights of transport aviation, as well as about 50 servicemen from among the flight, engineering and technical personnel of a separate helicopter regiment, which is part of the 14th Army of the Air Defense Force of the Central Military District.
