In the Meshchansky district this year, the roofs of two tenement houses, which are objects of cultural heritage, will be repaired. The work will take place within the framework of a large-scale regional overhaul program.
The Moscow City Overhaul Fund has planned to renovate the roof of a tenement house with the shops of Prince A.G. Gagarin. It is located at 19 Kuznetsky Most Street, Building 1. The four-storey building was built in 1886 according to the design of Viktor Kossov. The facade of the building is decorated with stucco decoration, including figures of griffins and a caduceus – the rod of the god of trade Mercury. In the center of the facade there is a two-story window, in the upper part of the arch of which there is a high relief depicting the bow of a boat with an anchor. At the end of the 19th century, the building housed a branch of the Muir and Merilis trade company, as well as a number of photo salons, including the well-known Moscow photo studio of Friedrich Moebius. Now the Kuznetsky Most passage with numerous shops is located here.

The four-story building in the pseudo-Russian style was built in 1915 by the architect Alexander Latkov. After the revolution, the Trinity courtyard became the patriarchal residence, until 1922 Patriarch Tikhon lived here.
As part of the program, it is planned to completely change the covering of the pitched roofs of both houses and to repair the drainage system. Also, workers will insulate the attic floors, if this is provided for by the project documentation.
When repairing a roof, the entire old coating is dismantled, after which a new roof is made. All work will be carried out in accordance with applicable building codes and regulations.
When carrying out a comprehensive repair of pitched metal roofs, the attic floor will be insulated to restore the temperature and humidity conditions of the attic space, which increases the energy efficiency of the building as a whole and improves the operation of the roof.
When insulating the attic floor, they will use mineral wool slabs, which are considered a modern heat insulator.
