Traditionally, fountains are launched in the capital at the end of April, but the preparation of structures begins in advance.

Specialists of the municipal economy complex have started the final work on the preparation of the capital’s fountains for the opening of the season, said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for housing and communal services and improvement Peter Biryukov.

He noted that traditionally fountains are launched in the capital at the end of April, but the preparation of the structures begins in advance.

“The first stage of preventive work took place in the fountain collectors in winter,” said Pyotr Biryukov. – The pumping equipment, filters and jet-forming elements were checked and repaired, the underwater lighting control panels and collector safety systems were installed, preventive repairs of all communications and hydraulics diagnostics were carried out.

The reactivation of the fountains after winter and the second stage of preparatory work have now begun.

In total, there are about 600 fountains in the city. The most famous of them are the “Years of War” fountain complex on Poklonnaya Hill, the “Friendship of Peoples”, “Stone Flower” and “Golden Ear” fountains at VDNKh, a fountain complex on Manezhnaya Square, a light and music fountain in Tsaritsyno Park and the Abduction fountain Europe ”at the Kievsky railway station. In the meantime, there is no need to know about it. ”
