On March 25, the Day of the Cultural Worker, Vladimir Putin will meet by videoconference with the winners of the President’s Prize for Young Cultural Workers and the President’s Prize in Literature and Art for Works for Children and Youth.

Conductor Dimitris Botinis, composer Elmir Nizamov, and theater and film actress Anna Chipovskaya became laureates of the award for young cultural workers in 2020.

The President’s Prize for works for children and youth in 2020 was awarded to the artist Vladimir Zuikov (posthumously), the teacher of the children’s art school No. 1 of the Karasuk district of the Novosibirsk region, Alexander Punko, and the team of creators of the exhibition “The feat of the people” in the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War Igor Ugolnikov, Alexander Shkolnik and Dmitry Poshtarenko.

The 2019 laureates will also contact the President, whom the coronavirus pandemic did not allow to meet in person last year as part of the traditional awards ceremony.

On the same day, the head of state will visit the new building of the Children’s Musical Theater of a Young Actor, where he will inspect the training and rehearsal complex and the theater’s auditorium.

The Children’s Musical Theater of a Young Actor, founded in 1988, is a recognized leader of the children’s theatrical movement in Russia. Children from 9 to 16 years old perform in the theater. The playbill contains Russian and world musical classics, and the repertoire itself is designed mainly for a young audience. Dozens of graduates of the theater have linked their lives with theatrical and film art, have become professional actors, directors, musicians.
