The “Personal Assistant” project for patients with suspected oncological diseases or with a confirmed diagnosis has been launched in all administrative districts of the capital. Told about it Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development.
“A person with cancer needs support and an individual approach on the way to fight the disease. That is why, in August last year, in the Southern District of the capital, we launched a unique project of personal assistants. They help to make an appointment or get a referral, remind about upcoming studies and visits to the doctor, track the timing of the necessary procedures and stages of treatment, and ask about the well-being of patients. We are pleased to announce that now the project has been launched in all districts of Moscow, and now 55 specialists are accompanying six thousand citizens who have encountered oncology. Thanks to personal assistants, a person is never left alone with his diagnosis, ”said the vice-mayor.
Within the framework of the project, each patient with cancer is assigned a specialist from the centers of public services “My Documents”. He accompanies the patient and helps with making an appointment with a doctor, informs about the date of the visit, controls the correct maintenance of medical records and solves the current problems of a sick person. A single digital healthcare platform helps in the implementation of the project.
The patient is informed about the possibility of being accompanied by a personal assistant during the initial referral to an oncologist in a polyclinic. If a person has agreed to receive the service, then he is given a card with the name and contacts of the assistant, with whom you can communicate directly. He accompanies the patient at all stages according to his individual treatment plan. Currently, 55 specialists are assigned to 6,000 Muscovites.
Sergei Sobyanin: repairs of three outpatient oncological care centers will be completed this year Re-equipment of cancer centers and a new standard of treatment: which made it possible to increase the volume of care for cancer patients
The project is being implemented within the framework of the new Moscow standard for the provision of oncological care approved by Sergei Sobyanin. On the basis of the largest city hospitals, six multidisciplinary oncological centers with a full range of clinical capabilities have been organized. They include diagnostics, surgical treatment, drug therapy and dispensary observation. Each center has a population of one or two administrative districts of Moscow. Thus, all stages of the provision of specialized care take place in the structure of one medical organization. This allows you to shorten the time of making a diagnosis, increase its accuracy and start treatment faster.
