In the Volgograd Region, at the Prudboy training ground of the Southern Military District (YuVO), the second day of the competition for the best tankers and motorized riflemen began with a dynamic demonstration of the combat capabilities of modern weapons and equipment. Before the start of the participants in the district stage of the International Army Games (ARMI-2021) “Tank Biathlon” and “Suvorov Onslaught”, the skies over the training ground were cut by traces of aircraft missiles.

The guests and participants of the competition witnessed modern combined arms training combat with the participation of motorized rifle, tank and artillery units, assault army and front-line bomber aviation, tactical airborne assault forces and the capabilities of a soldier in hand-to-hand combat.

Attack helicopters Ka-52, Mi-28N and Su-24 bombers rained down from the sky. On the ground, self-propelled howitzers 2S-19 “Msta-S” and T-90 tanks continued to fire at targets. Following the artillery preparation, motorized riflemen in BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers BTR-82A burst out to the line of opening fire. A tactical airborne assault force landed from the flank onto the bridgehead, scorched by the Tornado-G rocket artillery, from the Mi-8AMTSh transport combat helicopters. The fleeting battle ended with decisive actions of the scouts in hand-to-hand combat with the saboteurs of the conditional enemy.

Then the crews of the first race of the “Tank Biathlon” competition went to the start.

About 100 servicemen from Rostov and Volgograd regions, Stavropol Territory, Crimea, as well as from the republics of the North Caucasus take part in the competition. The Tank Biathlon and Suvorov Onslaught contests will end with the award ceremony on Saturday, March 27th.
