At the Kubinka airfield, scheduled flights of the crews of the aerobatics groups “Russian Knights” and “Swifts” took place, at the entrance of which the pilots worked out practical launches of guided missiles “Air-Air”.

The use of aviation weapons took place at the Ladoga training ground, where one of the Su-35s aircraft previously dropped a parachute target that imitated a thermal target, for example, the engine of a simulated enemy aircraft. The crews of the aerobatic teams performed missile launches at an air target at an altitude of about 9 thousand meters and at a speed of about 700 kilometers per hour.

In addition, the Swifts pilots have practiced landing at an operational airfield in the Republic of Karelia.

Young crews of “Swifts” performed practical missile launches at air targets for the first time. Also, the crews of the Russian Knights air group for the first time conducted live firing on Su-35s aircraft, which became one of the final stages of retraining and mastering a new type of aviation technology.

Flights for combat use took place day and night. In total, MiG-29, Su-30cm, Su-35s aircraft were involved in the flights, as well as more than 10 crews of the I.N. Kozhedub Aviation Equipment Show Center (Kubinka).
