The building is a cultural heritage site and the second tallest Stalinist skyscraper. There are 250 apartments in residential buildings.

In the Dorogomilovo district, the roofs of the residential buildings of the former hotel “Ukraine”, which is an object of cultural heritage, will be repaired. They are located at: Kutuzovsky Prospect, 2/1, buildings 1a and 1b. The works are part of a large-scale regional overhaul program.

The building of the former hotel “Ukraine” was built in 1955 – this is the second highest Stalinist skyscraper. It consists of three buildings, located in the shape of the letter P. In the central one, which occupies the hotel, 34 floors, it is crowned with a 73-meter spire. There are 250 residential apartments in the side buildings. As is typical for the Stalinist Empire style, the skyscraper is decorated with decorative elements. Thus, the corner towers are decorated with flowerpots and sheaves of wheat ears.

During the overhaul, it is planned to completely replace the roofing, as well as fences, hatches and exits to the attic, the drainage system will be repaired. Where it is provided by the design documentation, the attic floors will be insulated. All work is carried out in strict accordance with applicable building codes and regulations.

Insulation of attic floors allows you to restore the temperature and humidity conditions of the attic space, which increases the energy efficiency of the building as a whole and improves the operation of the roof. For this, mineral wool slabs are used, which play the role of a heat insulator. Also, if necessary, replace the crate and – partially or completely – the rafters and Mauerlat. All wooden structures are treated with fire retardant compounds.

Only contractors with special licenses from the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation are allowed to work. During the overhaul, the facilities are regularly checked by specialists Department of Cultural Heritage of the City of Moscow… Operational, intermediate and acceptance monitoring is carried out by construction control staff.

There are information stands next to each object where work is taking place. They contain the details of the contractor carrying out the repair and the contact details of the authorized employees.
