A project for the construction of an underground pedestrian crossing at the intersection with the railway tracks of the first Moscow Central Diameter (MCD-1) and Dmitrovskoe highway in Timiryazevsky and Butyrsky districts has been approved. This was announced by the chairman Moskomexpertiza Valery Leonov

“For millions of residents and guests of the capital, it is important that a safe and convenient infrastructure for both motorists and pedestrians is formed in the city. In the north, northeast of Moscow, it is planned to build an underground pedestrian crossing at the intersection with the MCD-1 and Dmitrovskoye Highway, as well as the reconstruction of utilities: water supply networks, storm sewers, electric cable lines and outdoor lighting, ”he said.

The length of the tunnel section of the crossing will be about 83 meters. Within the framework of the project, it is planned to install three direct staircases: the first will be located on the even side of Dmitrovskoye Highway, the second on the odd side, and the third staircase will be arranged on the even side of Yablochkova Street. The walls of the passageway of the tunnel and staircases will be faced with porcelain stoneware.

Technical premises will be located in the passage: an electrical control room, a control room, an elevator machine room, as well as service and utility rooms.

“The pedestrian crossing will be fully adapted for unhindered access for people with limited mobility. The design documentation provides for the placement of elevators at each exit, the device of tactile warning signs, the application of several signal stripes and the placement of auxiliary handrails, “added Valery Leonov.

Work on the construction of a pedestrian crossing and laying of an electric cable with access to the carriageway of Dmitrovskoe highway and part of Krasnostudensky passage will be carried out in stages. At the construction site, there will be no less than three lanes for vehicles. It will be possible to drive here at a maximum speed of 40 kilometers per hour, without stopping.

Pedestrians will be able to move on temporary wooden decks adapted for the movement of people with limited mobility, as well as on a temporary regulated pedestrian crossing. In addition, a temporary relocation of the ground urban passenger transport stop, the installation of temporary road signs, plastic blocks, road plates, and the application of new markings have been projected.
