The scouts of the Southern Military District (YuVO) held a tactical shooting competition from small arms at the Gvardeets training ground in Chechnya as part of the district stage of the Army-2021 competition “Excellence in Military Intelligence”.
Today, for the military intelligence officers of the Southern Military District, the next stage of the competition, “Shooting”, has ended, during which individual and live firing as part of reconnaissance units, standards for overcoming the mine-explosive and natural obstacles, as well as for throwing a knife, an infantry shovel and a training grenade were performed for accuracy and time.
Individual combat firing was carried out by each scout at targets from standard weapons – a sniper rifle, machine gun, machine gun or anti-tank grenade launcher. In the course of team firing, the participants overcame a section of terrain with an imitation of mining. Team members hitting the charges were considered out of order, and their comrades fired without them. Thus, the better the scouts crossed the minefield, the easier it was for them at the firing line.
Also, the scouts completed the stage of the competition – the reconnaissance group went to the assembly area after completing the task. It provided for the execution of undermining the object of a conditional enemy, including driving an armored vehicle and a march for 15 km.
During the next stage of the competition, the units will overcome a specialized obstacle complex “Scout’s Trail”, which includes more than 20 obstacles at a distance of 800 m.
More than 100 best scouts from formations and military units of the Southern Military District take part in the competition. The winners of the competition will represent the district at the all-army stage of the “Excellence in Military Intelligence” competition, which will be held in Novosibirsk on May 17-30.
