Buildings become comfortable for artists and spectators.

In 2020, renovation work was completed at 138 cultural sites, including 12 theaters. Put in order Moscow Theater for Young Spectators, Children’s Theater for Young Actors, Grandpa Durov’s Corner Theater (construction of a new stage) and others.

Last year, due to restrictions, theaters were only open for 154 days. The number of viewers has decreased, and hence the revenue from ticket sales. In such a situation, the Moscow Government provided financial support to cultural institutions. The allocated funds managed to preserve the teams and the level of wages. In general, in 2020, 15.1 thousand performances, concerts and circus performances were shown in Moscow.

Now theaters are gradually returning to their former operating mode. While the maximum number of spectators should not exceed 50 percent of the hall capacity. Full recovery will depend on the epidemiological situation.
