The servicemen of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh ensured the delivery of humanitarian aid provided by Russian public organizations and charitable foundations to the Noragyukh settlement of the Askeran region of Nagorno-Karabakh.

“The command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh, together with the administration of the Noragyukh settlement, worked out the issue of holding a humanitarian action at the present time in January. Previously, with the administration, we clarified the lists of especially needy residents of the settlement, the presence of refugees and internally displaced persons, ”said Igor Sivakov, head of the Humanitarian Response Center of the Russian peacekeeping contingent.

“In accordance with this list, we have provided the issuance of more than 100 essential items to people in greatest need. In addition, families with many children will receive humanitarian aid. In the future, similar actions will be held in other settlements so that the residents of Nagorno-Karabakh can return to favorable living conditions and activities as soon as possible, ”he added.

During the humanitarian action, the Russian peacekeepers donated folding beds, blankets, pillows, gas burners for cooking and other property on behalf of the autonomous non-profit organization Russian Humanitarian Mission and the charitable foundations Doctor Lisa and Haste to Good to the residents of the village of Noragyukh. In addition to helping families, a set of primary diagnostics was handed over to the village’s medical assistant, which includes a blood pressure monitor, heart rate monitor, glucometer, thermometers and other medical equipment – everything that is needed to provide first aid.

A few days earlier, the Russian peacekeeping contingent in the course of humanitarian actions held in the city of Stepanakert, the city medical center donated more than 50 items of medical property, as well as more than 350 books and textbooks to pupils of secondary school No. 3 named after A.S. Griboyedov.

In accordance with the agreements specified in the joint statement of the President of the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, from 00:00 Moscow time on November 10, 2020, a complete ceasefire and all hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh were announced.

With the assistance of Russian peacekeepers in the areas affected by the war, the restoration of vital engineering communications continues.
