The crew of the small anti-submarine ship (MPK) “Brest” of the Kola flotilla of heterogeneous forces of the Northern Fleet performed a complex of artillery firing at combat training ranges in the Barents Sea.

The artillery exercises were carried out as part of the second course mission of the surface ship combat training course.

The crews of the AK-176 and AK-630 artillery batteries successfully worked out exercises in conducting a battle with a simulated enemy surface ship during intensive maneuvering and carried out the defeat of coastal targets from various distances.

The crew of the MPK “Brest” also conducted an exercise on air defense and repelling an attack by air attack means of a simulated enemy.

Today, upon completion of the planned combat training activities, the MPK “Brest” returned to the point of permanent deployment – the city of Polyarny.

The small anti-submarine ship “Brest” is armed with the AK-176M and AK-630M anti-aircraft artillery systems, RBU-6000 rocket launchers and 533-mm torpedo tubes, as well as modern sonar systems. It is designed to search for and destroy submarines in the near sea and coastal zone.
