At the “Raevsky” training ground of the Novorossiysk Guards Airborne Assault Mountain Formation, the Airborne Forces on army tactical shooting “Tactical Shooter”, held within the framework of the International Army Games Army-2021, ended.
During the main stage, the participants performed exercises simulating various types of combat:
a battle in a building, where it was necessary to hit different targets set behind obstacles. The exercise was complicated by the fact that none of the participants knew the location of the targets and acted in accordance with the situation;
a fight in the forest, in which the participants destroyed targets from a machine gun and a pistol, moving from cover to cover;
a battle on the landing site, where the participants fired at targets while in the harness of the parachute, fixed on the slipway. Thus, a parachute descent was simulated.
Another exercise is freeing an injured hostage. A feature of this exercise was that during its execution, the participants dismounted from the car body, took up firing positions and, acting as part of a group of 4 people, destroyed targets and evacuated the wounded from the battlefield. Two participants evacuated the wounded hostage on a stretcher, while the rest covered the group’s retreat. In addition, the difficulty of the exercise was that the wounded man was imitated by a full-size dummy weighing about 86 kg and he had to be evacuated from the battlefield as quickly as possible.
A battle when ambushed was conducted by two participants from the team in a car, who were ambushed. One of them fired at targets from the car window, the second, leaving the car, fired from a prone position. Then the participants alternately moved to the shelter, from which they were destroying the remaining targets.
Evaluation of the exercise performance was made on the basis of time indicators, shooting accuracy, compliance with safety requirements.
In a bitter struggle, the team of the Ryazan Guards Higher Airborne Command School named after General of the Army V.F. Margelov won the first place, the representatives of a separate special-purpose guards unit from Kubinka near Moscow took the second place, the Pskov paratroopers took the third place.
The tournament was held according to the rules of a new military-applied sport – army tactical and shooting all-around, which includes fire training, elements of hand-to-hand combat, first aid to the wounded, throwing a knife and a sapper blade, as well as solving tactical problems.
More than 120 servicemen took part in the competition, consisting of 12 teams representing all formations, military units and institutions of the Airborne Forces from Ussuriysk to Pskov and Novorossiysk.
The team that won the qualifying stage will represent the “winged infantry” at the All-Army stage of the competition, which will be held here in May this year.
