Among the main achievements are the Sputnik V vaccine, artificial intelligence for recognizing covid pneumonia, the self-isolation index, a service for the delivery of tests for COVID-19, telemedicine platforms and diagnostic systems.
Moscow entered the top-3 rating of innovations in the fight against COVID-19, compiled by the international think tank StartupBlinkspecializing in research of innovative ecosystems of different countries and cities of the world. Sergei Sobyanin wrote about this in my blog.
The ranking of innovations in the fight against coronavirus includes 100 cities. The Russian capital was bypassed only by San Francisco and New York, and behind Moscow were Boston, Toronto, Tel Aviv, Los Angeles, Seoul, Taipei and San Diego.
Back in March last year, StartupBlink, in collaboration with UNAIDS, the UN HIV / AIDS Programme’s Health Innovation Marketplace, created a global map of innovative solutions – an open database of best practices in combating coronavirus in various cities and countries of the world.
Applications for the publication of decisions are accepted from think tanks, startups, companies, cities and countries of the world. Solutions are moderated by UNAIDS experts. Preference is given not to ideas and prototypes, but to systems that are used in practice.
“The map is constantly updated, and today it includes more than 1,300 innovations from 40 countries in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of coronavirus infection, as well as in financial support, information and assistance in adapting and restoring the economy,” the Moscow Mayor said in his blog.
Over the past year, the map has become one of the main platforms for international exchange of experience in the fight against the pandemic between dozens of countries and hundreds of cities around the world.
Moscow’s contribution is 46 innovative solutions that have helped Muscovites through their most difficult days.
“Among them are Foxford and Uchi.Ru online schools, the self-isolation index and Yandex service for delivering COVID-19 tests, telemedicine platforms, digital passes with QR codes and diagnostic systems. And of course, in the list of innovative solutions, the main successes of Moscow scientists are artificial intelligence used to recognize covid pneumonia and the Sputnik V vaccine, ”Sergei Sobyanin said.
These decisions secured Moscow the third place in the prestigious ranking, but most importantly, they saved thousands of lives.
