At the base of the ships of the Crimean Naval Base (KVMB) of the Black Sea Fleet (Black Sea Fleet), a survivability exercise was conducted, the purpose of which was to improve the skills of the crews in maintaining the combat capability of ships in emergency situations.

During the exercise, the servicemen worked out an algorithm of actions to localize and extinguish a fire in the ship’s premises, as well as to eliminate holes in the ship’s hull and eliminate the flow of seawater.

During the extinguishing of a simulated fire, the sailors passed the standards for putting on the equipment of the rescue group, for sealing the burning compartment and stopping the spread of fire until the fires were completely eliminated.

Damage control exercises are an obligatory element in the training of ship crews; they are carried out on a planned basis at different times of the day directly on ships, as well as at special training complexes (UTK), which make it possible to practice the actions of sailors in conditions as close as possible to the real situation.
