Servicemen of the army corps of the Eastern Military District (VVO) on Sakhalin visited the regional art museum, which hosted an exhibition of photographs of the finalists of the Far Eastern competition “Depth of Field”.
The photo competition has been held for the fourth year already. The geography and the number of its participants are expanding every year.
The exhibition of the finalists of the photo competition traditionally opens in Vladivostok on the occasion of the World Day of Photography – August 19. Within the framework of the annual festival of photography, the “Depth of Field” competition is the highlight of the festival.
In 2020, 1522 photographs of 353 photographers from eight regions of the Far East, large cities of Russia were sent to the judging committee
and even Germany.
The jury consisted of 18 famous photographers who are winners and members of the jury of international and all-Russian photo contests, as well as photo critics, photography teachers. From a huge number of applications, they selected only 60 images. They are the ones presented to the audience at the exhibition.
The exposition includes two works by Mikhail Novikov, a photographer from Kholmsk, as well as a photograph of a young author Karolina Galanina from Korsakov, who won first place among authors under 18 years of age.
All photographs are united by the fact that they were taken in the Far East. The servicemen saw breathtaking bird’s-eye views in the Aerial Photography nomination, simple human stories in the News and People nominations, funny pictures of our smaller brothers in the Flora and Fauna nomination and, of course, the immense beauty of our Motherland in the Landscape »And many other works.
The exhibition left only positive emotions among the servicemen,
after all, thanks to the works presented, they were able to plunge into the wonderful world of photography, get acquainted with the magnificent places and fauna of the Far East.
