The crew of the flagship of the Baltic Fleet, destroyer Nastoichivy, commanded by Captain 3rd Rank Anton Ganiev, celebrated the 28th anniversary of the first raising of the Navy flag on the ship.

The solemn event dedicated to the Day of the ship began with the formation of personnel, the raising of the St. Andrew’s flag and the flags of coloring. The order of the commander of the ship was read out on the encouragement of distinguished servicemen.

The destroyer is currently undergoing scheduled repairs in Kronstadt.

The destroyer Nastoichivy entered the combat composition of the Russian Navy in 1993 and a few months later became the first ship in the history of the Russian Navy to cross the Kiel Canal.

The destroyer “Persistent” has repeatedly won prizes at the Navy championship in fire and tactical training. In 1996 and 1997, the ship was recognized as the best surface ship in Russia.

In July 1996, the ship took part in the international naval exercises BALTOPS-96. In February-April 1997, the ship made a long sea voyage, covering a total of 20,000 miles.

The destroyer “Persistent” represented the Russian Navy at the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the creation of the South African naval forces in Cape Town and Simonstown. During her time in the combat composition of the Baltic Fleet, the destroyer covered over 80 thousand nautical miles and in total was at sea for more than two years.
