In Russia, a unified algorithm for interdepartmental and interregional cooperation will begin to operate in the event of the spread of dangerous infectious diseases. The order was approved by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

The decision to develop such a mechanism was made by decree of the President of Russia. The algorithm establishes the order of actions of the authorities in the event of a threat of deterioration of the epidemiological situation and records the steps necessary to protect the life and health of citizens.

In total, the document contains more than 30 events. Some of them will be implemented at the stage of risk detection (strengthening quarantine control, checking the readiness of medical facilities), some – in the event of a worsening of the situation (evacuation of compatriots from abroad, introduction of quarantine restrictions). A responsible executor has been appointed for each item.

Mikhail Mishustin previously pointed out the need to develop such a mechanism. “It is important to prepare in advance for possible threats in order to protect the life and health of people. The coordinated actions of the authorities at all levels play a decisive role here, ”- he noted at a meeting of the Coordination Council for the fight against coronavirus on January 12.

The algorithm is based on the experience of countering COVID-19. Such a mechanism will help to better coordinate the work of government bodies at all levels, speed up decision-making in the event of a threat of epidemics, and, therefore, will make it possible to more effectively contain the spread of dangerous diseases.

The document will be published.
