The Yunarmeys of Yakutia take an active part in the All-Russian creative project “My city in the 18th century. What did Bering see? ” and the Yunarmeyskoy expedition “BERING 1725-2021”. Young people will develop tourist routes around the memorial sites of the Great Northern Expedition of the 18th century. The project is dedicated to the 340th anniversary of the birth of Bering and the 280th anniversary of his death.

Activists of the Yunarmey movement drew up a route, studied the historical significance of the navigator’s stay, as well as the achievements and legacy of Vitus Bering in Yakutsk.

The expedition is attended by representatives of the Yunarmiya military-patriotic movement of the cities included in the list of the Bering Great Northern Expedition. The task of the participants is to create a route around their city using the facts of the history of the first half of the 18th century, about the stay in the city of Kamchatka expeditions led by Vitus Bering and Alexey Chirikov. Yakutsk is one of 63 Russian cities visited by the famous discoverer. Commander Vitus Bering was the leader of Russian expeditions to explore the North-Eastern outskirts of Russia. Bering’s first and second Kamchatka expeditions are the first serious studies in the history of Russian travels to the northern Far East.
