In St. Petersburg, in the House of Officers of the Western Military District, on April 1, the opening ceremony of the mobile exhibition of the Russian Geographical Society will take place.

The exhibition contains documents and artifacts about the contribution of representatives of the Russian Geographical Society to the study of the European part of Russia, the Urals, Siberia, the Far East, polar territories and other regions, as well as about outstanding researchers who have collected unique cartographic, geological and botanical collections.

A special place at the exhibition is occupied by the multimedia pavilion about the BK-31 armored boat, as well as artifacts from the First World War and the Great Patriotic War raised by the specialists of the Center for Underwater Research of the Russian Geographical Society from the bottom of the Gulf of Finland.

Also in the traveling exposition – the exhibition “Keeping the Family Warm”, dedicated to the wives of Soviet commanders and military leaders. It was based on previously not exhibited family photos, fragments of memories.

The exhibition operates in a free visit format, taking into account the anti-epidemiological requirements introduced in St. Petersburg.

After St. Petersburg, the exhibition will move to Kaliningrad, and then will visit more than 20 cities in Russia.
