Startups and small IT companies will be able to receive grants for the development of projects using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. In 2021, 1.4 billion rubles are provided for these purposes. The rules for providing such support were approved by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

Both small businesses and individuals can apply for grants. For the selection, the novelty of the development and the effectiveness of the proposed solutions, the prospects for the implementation and commercial implementation of the product will be important.

Subsidies are provided for the development of new services and solutions and for the acceleration of projects (assistance in project development and product launch to the market). Also, state support can be obtained for the creation of open AI libraries – free resources on which program codes for the operation of artificial intelligence are collected. Each developer will be able to use such services and implement the necessary codes in their AI projects.

The Foundation for Assistance to the Development of Small Forms of Enterprises in the Scientific and Technical Sphere will be engaged in the competitive selection of applicants and the provision of financing. He will also determine the terms and conditions of the competition, requirements for participants, a list of required documents. This information will be published on the Internet.

For this, the budget for the next three years provides for more than 5 billion rubles, “- said the head of government.
