The specialists have already begun work on the installation of 20 platforms.

32 lifting platforms for people with limited mobility will be installed in the north-east of the capital this year. They will be installed in the entrances of houses in accordance with the previously submitted applications.

“Currently, work has already begun on the installation of 20 platforms, including 16 inclined and four vertical. After the completion of the preparatory work, the installation of lifts for people with limited mobility will begin in 12 more entrances. At present, there is a survey and design being carried out, “the press service said.

Department of Capital Repair of the City of Moscow.

The specialists will install four platforms each in the Yuzhnoye Medvedkovo and Otradnoye districts, three in Bibirev, two platforms each in Babushkinsky, Yaroslavsky and Losinoostrovsky districts, one each in Sviblov, Lianozov and Ostankinsky districts.

The technical feasibility of installing the equipment is determined by interdepartmental commissions. They work in every district of the capital. If installation is possible, specialists begin to design platforms taking into account the current building regulations, norms and rules. Projects must undergo a state examination, which confirms the correctness of the adopted technical solutions.

“When conditions permit, priority is given to vertical lifting platforms, which are more user-friendly. Such platforms are a kind of mini-elevator that allows you to cover a distance of up to four meters. If it is not possible to install a vertical platform, an inclined type lift is installed. This structure is mounted on the wall parallel to the flight of stairs. It is compact and does not interfere with other people. Such platforms can be used both for straight stairs and for those with a more complex structure, ”the ministry’s press service noted.

In houses with narrow stairs, devices are installed that are almost invisible when folded. They do not interfere with the passage and do not create inconveniences for the rest of the residents.

To install a lifting platform at the entrance, you must submit an application to the social protection authorities at your place of residence. The applicant must have a permanent registration in Moscow and a doctor’s recommendation on the use of a wheelchair.

In addition to lifting platforms, the houses will have ramps and handrails at the entrance to the staircase, as well as doors with door closers that people with limited mobility can open remotely. In addition, specialists will equip visual and dispatch control systems.

From 2015 to 2020, 85 lifting platforms for people with limited mobility were installed in North-Eastern Administrative District – 66 inclined and 19 vertical. During this time, 27 platforms were installed in Otradnoye, 24 in Bibirev, nine in the Yaroslavl region, seven in Losinoostrovsky, four in Lianozovo, five each in Babushkinsky and Yuzhny Medvedkov, as well as one platform each in Severny Medvedkov, Maryina Roshcha, Ostankino and Alekseevsky districts.

The capital creates a comfortable barrier-free environment for all residents. In total, from 2011 to 2020, 1,420 lifting platforms for wheelchair users were equipped in Moscow.
