This is a series of activities aimed at acquiring the initial skills necessary for an independent active job search and at preparing convicts for release. Duration of the course is 6 weeks.

At the first stage, groups are organized, acquaintance begins and it is determined where to start looking for a job. Correctional psychologists base this activity on data from the city’s Employment Center.

The factors that hinder employment are then identified. Convicts get acquainted with the direct prohibitions on hiring persons with a criminal record. Next comes the training of self-presentation and the definition of a promising job. Then a competent resume is drawn up that meets the labor market standards.

The next step is preparing for a successful interview. In the last lesson, convicts put their knowledge into practice. Yana Klimenko, a psychologist at IK-6 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Samara Region, said that the participants in the school of preparation for release realize that it is not so difficult to find a job if you take steps to find a job yourself.
