In the Kolpino educational colony, the project “Mentors: Not Nearby, but Together!” Was launched. The first mentor for the pupil was Anatoly Poveliy, Head of the Administration of the Kolpinsky District of St. Petersburg. Within the framework of the project, a convict from the Kolpino educational colony, who lived before his conviction in the city of Kolpino, visited his mentor with his relatives while leaving the institution. During the first meeting, the mentor and the ward got to know each other.
Anatoly Poveliy showed his workplace, told the pupil about the situation with employment and education in the area, discussed the teenager’s life goals and made a plan of meetings for the coming months.
“I am grateful to Anatoly Anatolyevich that he agreed to become my mentor and the management of the institution for the opportunity to gain knowledge from such an experienced person. I understand how important it is to receive such support so that, immediately after liberation, you can find a worthy occupation for yourself and not repeat the mistakes of the past. I think this will be an excellent example for other convicts, ”said the pupil of the Kolpinskaya VK.
“The main tasks of mentoring are to strengthen the personal qualities of adolescents released from the walls of an educational colony, help in finding their place in life: building trusting relationships with a mentor and others, assisting in building an individual educational route, familiarizing with the features of building a professional career. The pupils will be taken under guardianship by representatives of the authorities, social activists, athletes, entrepreneurs and others, ”said Anatoly Makhonko, head of the Kolpinskaya VC.
