This year, for the first time, cadets of the faculty of training military medical specialists of foreign armies took part in the championship, among which cadet Ramazan Fakerov became the winner in the 65 kg weight category.

The head of the department of physical training, Colonel Alexei Maryin, noted that the competitions were held at a high professional level and now the children will have to prepare for the Games among the universities of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

“We have been waiting for this moment for a long time and this year we have finally started training. We planned and held the competitions in order to select the cadets, complete the national team and take part in the Spartakiad competitions among the universities of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, ”said Alexey Maryin.

More than 60 cadets 2,3,4,5 and 8 faculties took part in the army hand-to-hand fighting championship of the Military Medical Academy.

According to the judge of the competition, assistant to the head of the educational and methodological department, lieutenant colonel of the medical service Alexander Matievsky, hand-to-hand combat first of all fosters patience and a sense of mutual justice, and each of the participants in the competition had these qualities.

“The guys followed the rules of sports, observed fair-play. There was also mutual respect. The most important thing is that guys of different nationalities came out from different countries, there was no enmity or aggression between them, ”said Alexander Matievsky.

He also talked about the difference in fighting between opponents:

“The indicator of an athlete’s readiness is not a quick start to a fight, any athlete needs a few seconds or even up to a minute to understand an opponent. A competent fighter determines the degree of preparedness, the weak and strong link of the opponent. Determines his reaction rate. This is a fight without a fight. You need to stand up so that it is comfortable for you, but not for him. Therefore, when people immediately rush into battle, this is not an indicator of the upper class. “

Alexander Vladimirovich is a judge of the 1st category in sports, he has been refereeing since 1999, at the academy he has been taking part in competitions in army hand-to-hand fighting as a judge since 2013.

“I think there are no losers in this sport. The main thing is the very fact that you overcame your fear, your instinct for self-preservation and proved to yourself that you can, ”said Alexander Matievsky.
