A soldier of the anti-aircraft missile unit of the air defense unit of the Eastern Military District (VVO) stationed in the Trans-Baikal Territory, Corporal Vladimir Poletaev saved the girl’s life by providing her with first aid in the event of an epileptic seizure.

Vladimir was returning home from service on a shuttle bus. Suddenly, the girl in the front seat felt sick. She threw her head back, lost consciousness, stopped breathing. The driver stopped, the passengers froze in confusion. The only one who immediately assessed the situation and immediately rushed to help was a soldier.

Applying the knowledge of emergency medical care received from medical training in the army, the soldier quickly took the necessary actions that helped save the girl.

“I was surprised how clearly and competently the guy acted,” the bus driver Yevgeny Muromtsev admitted later. – For the first time before my eyes, a person without special medical education provided first aid so professionally.

Currently, corporal Vladimir Poletaev is doing military service under the contract as a senior mechanic-driver of the launch battery of an anti-aircraft missile unit of the Air Defense Forces.
