At the Tesnitskoye training ground in the Tula region, the opening ceremony of the all-army stage of the field training competition among the special forces of the Airborne Forces (Airborne Forces) “Polar Star”, held as part of the International Army Games-2021, took place.

The annual competition is held for the third time and for the first time at the training ground of the Tula Guards Airborne Force.

Also, for the first time, a team of the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation (Rosgvardia) will take part in the all-army stage of the competition.

According to the terms of the competition, each of the five teams includes 12 participants: a coach, a judge, a commander of a special task force, his deputy, a scout-radio operator (two people), a scout-sniper (two people), a scout-sanitary engineer, a scout-miner, a scout -machine gunner and scout-grenade launcher.

“During 10 days of the competition, servicemen of special forces representing airborne forces from Ivanovo, Ulan-Ude, Kamyshin and the Moscow region, as well as the Rosgvardia team, will have to demonstrate their best professional qualities of a scout in conditions as close as possible to combat. Each participant will receive his own individual assessment based on the results of the competition, ”said the chief judge of the competition, Colonel Vyacheslav Nikolakhin.

The opening ceremony of the competition, held at the Tesnitskoye training ground of the Tula Guards airborne unit, was attended by the commander of the guard unit, Colonel Yevgeny Tonkikh, as well as veterans of the Airborne Forces, intelligence and special forces, who wished the strongest team a fair fight and victory.

In total, about 100 best scouts from four special-purpose units of airborne (airborne assault) formations, a separate special-purpose guards unit from Kubinka near Moscow, and a Rosgvardia team take part in the competition.

The participants who have shown the best results will be included in the national team of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, which will represent the country at the international stage of the competition, which will be held in late August – early September at the Brestsky training ground in the Republic of Belarus.
