In five cities of the South of Russia, where the headquarters of the Southern Military District (YuVO) amalgamations are deployed, from mid-May to mid-July, a mobile exhibition of the Russian Geographical Society will be organized, dedicated to the study of the underwater heritage of the First World War and the Great Patriotic War.

The exhibition contains documents and artifacts about the contribution of representatives of the Russian Geographical Society to the study of the European part of Russia, the Urals, Siberia, the Far East, polar territories and other regions, as well as about outstanding researchers who have collected unique cartographic, geological and botanical collections.

A special place at the exhibition is taken by the multimedia pavilion about the BK-31 armored boat, as well as artifacts from the First World War and the Great Patriotic War raised by the specialists of the Center for Underwater Research of the Russian Geographical Society from the bottom of the Gulf of Finland, having the status of an “Archaeological Heritage Site” (the object is over 100 years old).

Also in the traveling exposition – the exhibition “Keeping the Family Warm”, dedicated to the wives of Soviet commanders and military leaders. It was based on previously not exhibited family photos, fragments of memories.

In the South of Russia, the exhibition will take place in Rostov-on-Don, Sevastopol, Novorossiysk, Vladikavkaz and Kaspiysk, after which it will go to Kazan, and then visit more than 10 Russian cities.
