Subdivisions of the topographic service of the Guards Tank Army of the Western Military District conducted a training session on the use of a unique mobile digital topographic station.

During the training, military topographers prepared terrain models intended for aviation, artillery and motorized rifle units. The inaccuracy of designations on maps during their development in the field is up to 5 cm per 1 square meter, which makes it possible to determine coordinates with high accuracy and use them to target various artillery systems and deliver air strikes in various conditions of a combat situation.

More than 150 servicemen took part in the training and about 10 units of special equipment were involved.

This complex allows you to quickly correct and re-print topographic maps in the field. In fact, this is a mobile printing house that creates a matrix in 30 minutes and prints a map in an open field, closing the “white holes” on topographic maps.

Topographic systems are capable of storing, controlling and issuing digital information about the terrain on compact disks, promptly creating and updating geographic information documents in digital and analog form.

In addition, the station is capable of analyzing and assessing the terrain in topogeodetic terms, printing topographic maps, creating spatial terrain models, and displaying 3D models on shared screens.
