Summer cafes and verandas began to open in Moscow. The city’s layout includes 3221 seasonal cafes. Compared to the 2011 season, their number has more than doubled (then there were 1548 objects).

The capital supports restaurateurs, providing them, since 2012, with the opportunity to place summer verandas and seasonal cafes on the territory of the city for an unlimited and free of charge without formalizing land-legal relations. Projects of their placement Moskomarchitecturedevelops for free.

It’s free, the list of documents for applying is on mos.ru… The term for the provision of the service is from 15 to 30 working days.

When opening a seasonal café, entrepreneurs must adhere to standard standards. They were adopted to streamline the placement of such objects and ensure the preservation of the external architectural appearance of the city.

The placement of a summer cafe must comply with safety requirements, technical regulations, building codes and regulations, state standards, architectural and artistic solutions and not interfere with the movement of pedestrians and vehicles.

The area of a seasonal cafe cannot exceed the area of the catering establishment where it is located. Also, tents cannot be used.

Since December 2019, restaurateurs can keep separate structures of the seasonal café in winter, as long as it does not damage the appearance of the city, and also does not create obstacles for pedestrians and cleaning equipment. There are a number of requirements for such structures – to ensure the safety of citizens and the location. In addition, you need to agree with the Architectural Council of Moscow.
