The personnel of the guards airborne assault formation of the Airborne Forces made a march to the Strugi Krasnye training ground in the Pskov region as part of a large-scale regimental tactical exercise of the Airborne Forces.
After the received signal, a convoy of more than 150 units of armored tracked and automobile vehicles with personnel, leaving the concentration area, covered a distance of more than 130 kilometers along a public road and arrived to organize further practical actions in the designated area.
On the way of the convoy, the paratroopers practiced overcoming the contaminated area of the terrain and the area of mine-explosive obstacles in combat vehicles.
An attack by an armed group of an illegal armed group (IAF) was repelled on the routes of fire movement of weapons of BMD-4 M airborne assault vehicles, MDM armored personnel carriers “Shell” and small arms.
Within the timeframe set by the command, the main forces of the Black Sea Airborne Assault Regiment of the Pskov Guards Formation reached the lines indicated in the combat training mission at the Strugi Krasnye training ground.
During the third, final stage of the regimental tactical exercises at the Strugi Krasnye training ground, the regiment’s units block and destroy illegal armed groups bases from the standard weapons of BMD-2K-AU and BMD-4M airborne combat vehicles, T-72B3 tanks of a separate tank battalion and 120-mm self-propelled -artillery guns 2S9 “Nona-S”, 120-mm mortars “Sani”, rocket infantry flamethrowers RPO-A “Bumblebee”, RPG-7D grenade launchers of small arms and sniper weapons.
In total, in the tactical exercise in the Pskov region, which takes place in three stages from March 29 to April 2 of this year, more than 1,500 servicemen and 200 units of military and special equipment are involved in 8 Il-76md aircraft of the military transport aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces, as well as transport – combat helicopters Mi-8 AMTSh “Terminator” and attack helicopters Mi-24.
