The personnel of the humanitarian demining company of the Russian peacekeeping contingent continues to clear the area from explosive objects in Nagorno-Karabakh.

In the course of demining work since November 23, 2020, 1,873 hectares of territory, 575 kilometers of roads, 1,658 housing buildings (including 30 socially significant objects) have been cleared of unexploded ordnance. In total, Russian peacekeepers discovered and neutralized 25379 explosive items.

Explosive objects discovered by sappers are removed and destroyed at a specially equipped Ballidzha training ground. Ammunition that cannot be evacuated is destroyed on site with all the necessary safety measures in place for blasting operations.

In accordance with the agreements specified in the joint statement of the President of the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, from 00:00 Moscow time on November 10, 2020, a complete ceasefire and all hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh were announced.

A peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation has been deployed to control the ceasefire and military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh. The core of the Russian contingent is made up of units of the 15th separate motorized rifle brigade (peacekeeping) of the Central Military District.

With the assistance of Russian peacekeepers in the areas affected by the war, the restoration of vital engineering communications continues.
