At the Tesnitskoye training ground near Tula, the participants of the All-Army stage of the field training competition among the special purpose units (SPN) of the Airborne Forces (Airborne Forces) “Polar Star” successfully completed the most difficult exercise – “Storming the building”.

According to the terms of the exercise, the servicemen, as part of their teams, parachuted off from a helicopter near the building in which a detachment of conditional terrorists sat down, taking hostages from among the civilian population. The special forces were to release the hostages.

To accomplish the task, each special forces group was divided into two subgroups, of which the first was responsible for the storming of the building and the release of the hostages, the second – for clearing the area around the buildings and providing cover.

To practice the exercise, about 30 targets were prepared, simulating lightly armored vehicles and clusters of militants at a distance of up to 450 m.For assault subgroups at a distance of up to 25 m, about 20 growth targets and 5 penalty targets were set up – hostages who cannot be hit.

To complete the task, each team had 2 shots for the RPG-7D hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers, 40 rounds for the AKS-74, 10 rounds for the SVDS sniper rifle, 50 rounds for the PKM machine gun (“Pecheneg”) and 16 rounds for each Makarov pistol ( PM).

The peculiarity of this exercise was the practicing of tactical skills and firing techniques by the participants in the battle in the city.

The difficulty in performing the exercise was that none of the participants knew in advance the target environment both outside and inside the building, did not know the place where the hostages were held, which significantly complicated the conduct of the battle at short distances with operational destruction of targets.

The results of the stage will be announced at a later date.

In total, about 100 of the best scouts from 4 special-purpose units of the Airborne Forces, as well as the Rosgvardia team, take part in the competition.
