On Saturday at 15.00 in the Kaliningrad branch of the Nakhimov Naval School, a solemn ceremony of opening a monument to the great Russian naval commander Admiral Pavel Stepanovich Nakhimov and a ritual of initiation into Nakhimov will take place.

At the beginning, at the main educational and administrative building of the school, the Commander of the Baltic Fleet, Admiral Alexander Nosatov, Governor of the Kaliningrad Region Anton Alikhanov and the head of the KNVMU Rear Admiral Sergei Grishin, will unveil a monument to Admiral P.S. Nakhimov.

The next episode of the solemn events will be the solemn ritual of initiation into the Nakhimovites. The right to read the solemn oath will be given to Ilya Krasnoslabodtsev from Nakhimov class 71, who, together with all the cadets, will pronounce the words of the oath.

After the report to the Commander of the Baltic Fleet about the end of the solemn ritual, a meeting will be held dedicated to the significant events in the life of the Nakhimov School.

The events will end with a solemn passage of newly made Nakhimovites near the monument to the famous admiral to the sounds of a military orchestra.

On the eve of the celebrations, an open day was held at the Kaliningrad NVMU, which aroused great interest among the residents of the Yantarny Territory. In a few hours allotted for the event, the branch was visited by more than 700 parents and future cadets who plan to enroll in an educational institution this year.

The branch of the Nakhimov Naval School in Kaliningrad received the first Nakhimovites on 08/30/2020. Classrooms in general subjects were equipped with the most modern equipment and visual aids. In addition to compulsory school disciplines, the Nakhimovites also study naval science, and the educational material base for maritime disciplines is practically not inferior to equipping the classrooms of higher educational institutions. All buildings of the branch are designed in accordance with modern requirements: cubicles are designed for four Nakhimov residents in two bedrooms, combined with a separate shower room and wardrobe, there are gyms, psychological relief rooms and much more, which is designed to make the process of teaching students the sciences more comfortable.
