The servicemen of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh ensured the delivery of humanitarian aid provided by Russian public organizations and charitable foundations to the Tagavard settlement of the Martuni region of Nagorno-Karabakh.

“We interact with the local population by contacting the public reception and the hotline. Residents of Nagorno-Karabakh often speak out about the need to provide humanitarian assistance. Based on this, we contact the heads of the districts, study the needs of the local population and provide the necessary assistance, ”said Alexander Belov, officer of the Center for Humanitarian Response of the Russian peacekeeping contingent.

During the humanitarian action, the Russian peacekeepers handed over folding beds, blankets, pillows, gas burners for cooking and other property on behalf of the autonomous non-profit organization “Russian Humanitarian Mission” to the residents of the Tagavard settlement. In addition to helping families, a set of primary diagnostics was transferred to the village’s medical assistant, which includes a blood pressure monitor, heart rate monitor, blood glucose meter, thermometers and other names of medical equipment – everything that is necessary for first aid, and the local school received a set of fiction and teaching aids.

During the week, together with the Russian humanitarian mission, the peacekeeping contingent carried out five humanitarian actions in the settlements of Stepanakert, Tagavard, Khanadzakh and Askeran, during which more than 9 tons of medical equipment, food kits and basic necessities were handed over to the local population. In particular, more than 50 items of medical equipment and property were transferred to the medical center of the city of Stepanakert.

In accordance with the agreements specified in the joint statement of the President of the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, from 00:00 Moscow time on November 10, 2020, a complete ceasefire and all hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh were announced.

With the assistance of Russian peacekeepers in the areas affected by the war, the restoration of vital engineering communications continues.
