Order of March 29, 2021 No. 770-r

Order of March 29, 2021 No. 770-r

The agreement between Russia and the United States on cooperation in the exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes will be in effect until December 31, 2030. The proposal to extend it was approved by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

The decision has been preliminarily worked out with the American side, and the renewal procedure will be completed after the exchange of diplomatic notes. The draft Russian note is attached to the order approved by Mikhail Mishustin.

The agreement, concluded in 1992, has already been extended four times. This document is one of the main legal instruments that form the conditions for Russian-American cooperation in space exploration. The extension of the agreement is in the interests of both parties and will contribute to the effective implementation of joint space projects.
